Mission Statement
The act of consultation is not linear or stagnate or a single-step process. Rather, it is a cycle of ongoing inclusion for diverse perspectives. Sunrise Consultation assures timely communication, including how and when connections will occur as well as who is responsible. We will share relevant data, information, and feedback including how information will be used. We believe in Consensus. We believe in Respect.
Consensus
To create an environment where meaningful relationships exist and are sustained through a consensus-based decision making process – where unanimous consent may not be reached, but where facilitators seek widespread participation, driven by a cooperative approach to community agreement. Adaptive management planning can create a venue for positive change. This approach is much deeper than stakeholder engagement, which may end at the gathering input stage. Consensus strives for the full empowerment of the stakeholder community involved by offering the opportunity for all concerns to be shared, stories to be told, time to be invested, and trust to be built.

To sustain relationships with stakeholders, respect creates a foundation based on mutual learning, understanding, and a desire to identify challenges within a project. This understanding leads stakeholders towards solutions benefiting all participating parties, offering a path for developing relationships that provide positive outcomes. Sunrise Consultation pursues consistency across time. We base our work and relationships upon accurate information that allows constituents opportunities to reverse decisions; are representing the concerns of all affected by a project while adhering to prevailing ethical standards.
Through consensus-building decision making, stakeholders work collaboratively toward advancing mutual goals. Agencies and stakeholders who mindfully work together over a period of time can improve results while decreasing tension. Sustained engagement through following the stages of this process will generate powerful results creating a clear picture of stakeholder concerns.
